Growing plants is hard when the weather is against you and owning a greenhouse is great for the serious gardening enthusiast. With the addition of a greenhouse you can gives you a controlable micro climate to grow your plants and vegetables.

There are a lot of vegetables and flowers that can be grown inside a greenhouse when they would not grow outside due to weather and climate conditions. As a responsible greenhouse owner everything you grow in it will be totally dependent on your care and any failure to water them will damage their chances of growth.

The greenhouse gives you the advantage over outfdoor growing because you are in control of the growing conditions but this also means plants depend on your care. For many people the pleasure they get from greenhouse gardening is down to the satisfaction of having complete control and if things go well or go badly you must accept the praise or the blame.

When you own a greenhouse there are many flowers and vegetables you can grow and you can started them from seeds and grow them to maturity and you can take full credit for your achievement. We think of greenhouses as being one shape but there are several types but the first step is to decide on agetting a greenhouse if you want to grow plants that could not grow outside locally.

The majority of greenhouses are well built and rugged so they should be with you for years and for the money give you a great deal of pleasure or you can build a cheap greenhouse and replace it later. The geodesic dome shape greenhouse is my top favorite design partly because they look so stylish but also because they allow a lot of light into the greenhouse while giving you more groundspace to grow plants.

The more common type of greenhouse is the rectangular shape and these may be all glass or have a low wall at the bottom of the sides. The alignment of oblong greenhouses will usually be set to get the most light and warmth from the sun though sometimes you will have too much sun so local conditions must decide.

In general you want maximum light to enter your greenhouse but you need to be aware that stong sunlight may damage plants in some conditions so you should get local advice on greenhouse positioning in your area. Glass is not always used for greenhouses and the development of clear plastic materials offers some choices which are cheaper and less subject to breakage.

The traditional way  to build a greenhouse can mean it lasts for decades and the cheaper alternatives may not be around so long but they are a great alternative to get started with greenhouse gardening.
